Details

Trimbleston is a mixed development which commenced in 2003. Tully Landscapes have been involved in all phases of the development with the most recent award-winning phases completed between 2018 and 2021. Phases 3 and 4 consist of a shared surface boulevard entrance road, two large landscape courtyard open spaces and a cluster of 18 houses.

Tully Landscapes have worked hand in hand with Sorohan Builders for nearly 50 years and as with previous developments they trusted the entire landscape design and build to Tully Landscapes along with master planning design assistance from Colin Cooney Designs.

Key considerations were high end materials and plant selection to keep in line with the high specification of the development. Flexibility in design and layout of open space was afforded with an emphasis on circulation paths and individual vantage points from each apartment a top priority. Elements of the project include contrasting surfaces, ground shaping, water features, colourful and unusual planting and luxurious lawns with spring bulb planting which set off the grass areas. The planting for each area was carefully selected with specimen trees selected from leading nurseries in Italy, Germany and The Netherlands with formal hedges, shaped topiary plants and complimentary mass planting in proportion to the overall spaces with interest and colour year-round. All the courtyard spaces are constructed over underground carparks requiring appropriate solutions to drainage and soil depth whilst maintaining the integrity of waterproofing of the entire slab during construction. Bonsai Pine trees were planted on gentle mounds for both effect and extra soil depth protecting the underlying structure. Throughout the project existing mature Lime and Chestnut trees which line the boulevard were successfully protected during the construction phase.

Tully Landscapes were delighted to receive an award for this development at the 2022 ALCI Landscape Awards.
